Definition of infertility
Infertility is defined as the inability to get pregnant after one year of regular, unprotected intercourse.

Relationship between infertility rate and male/ female factors
Around 1 in 6 (17%) couples are having difficulties in conceiving and this proportion is increasing, mainly due to two reasons: 1) Women are starting their families at a later age in order to achieve their career goals, 2) Sperm counts are falling. However, with the appropriate help, the vast majority of couples can achieve pregnancy.

Causes of infertility
There are many possible causes of infertility. Some common factors include ovulation problem, quality of eggs and sperms, problems of vas deferens and oviduct, or multiple factors.
